About the author…

For most of my adult life I’ve worked in Information Technology, primarily as a Network Engineer, but writing has always been a passion. Yet I never imagined that I’d be writing about trauma, recovery, or anything remotely spiritual. The places life takes us can be surprising.

I have been fortunate enough to visit dozens of countries and see many incredible places because of my career. I’ve stood on the Great Pyramid at Giza, swam in the Dead Sea, cycled slowly along the old Appian Way south of Rome, visited remote fishing villages in Malaysia built entirely on pylons, sipped Scotch in the highlands, and much more. I even lived in the Middle East for 2 years and learned an appreciation of the culture and traditions of that region that I think few Americans can understand in today’s political climate. The perspective one gets from travel is invaluable and it has opened my mind to accepting others for who they are, not who I expect them to be.

I’ve also been on a healing path that has taken me much farther than any place I could go physically. I’ve learned and experienced so much since beginning this new phase of my life that I am an entirely different person with a world of opened possibilities than I was just a few years ago.  The incredible healing properties of psychedelics have given me a new lease on a happy and healthy life that was simply impossible for me before.  MDMA-psychotherapy literally saved my life and I’ve seen it work wonders and miracles with many others whom I now call friends.

As a survivor of trauma and abuse I want to not only understand myself better but to pass on that understanding and compassion to others. I am working to complete my graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling to work directly with survivors and bring my experience and perspective to others who have also endured pain and betrayal at the hands of a loved one.

If you spend any time here reading my posts or linked articles, thank you. I hope they can provide some comfort that no matter how bad it gets, there is a way forward.
